Position: Enumerators

Terms of Duration: 10 days

Reporting Line: MERL Officer

Location: Montserrado County (8 persons) and Bong County (7persons)


Organizational Background

Youth Network for Positive Change -YOUNETPO is registered and accredited youth led civil society organization with over 9 years of experience working around key issues including peacebuilding, human rights and citizens access to justice, sexual reproductive health rights, health system strengthening, HIV/AIDS care, prevention and treatment, youth and climate change, youth and sexuality, youth capacity development, and civic engagements. Since its establishment in 2014, YOUNETPO has initiated several programs to empower women and girls through capacity building initiatives and leadership programs, advocate for women and girls’ rights and access to safe abortion, education, health care services and fostered political accountability to make elected leaders more accountable and responsive. These programs and projects have benefited over 10,000 Youths between the ages of 10-35 years; we have successfully implemented projects and programs in Montserrado, Margibi, Grand Bassa, Gbarpolu, Bong and Nimba Counties.


Overview of the Project


Youth Network for Positive Change – YOUNETPO is currently implementing a one-year grant under USAID Liberia Civil Society Activity (CSA) which is a five-year program funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented by DAI Global LLC (DAI). CSA aims to strengthen Liberian civil society organizations (CSOs) to effectively engage their constituents to contribute to decision-making processes and oversee government actions. The purpose of this activity is to strengthen Liberians’ ability to advocate for policy reforms, policy implementation, and service delivery through multi-stakeholder coalitions that build feedback loops among government, CSOs, and citizens.


Leveraging YOUNETPO’s past performance in organizing and implementing campaign related activities to enhance civic participation of women and girls as well as campaign related activities to improve program management on delivering quality HIV prevention, care and treatment for vulnerable populations in Montserrado, YOUNETPO is implementing key community driven programmatic strategies and interventions aimed to increase citizens’ participation in community health decision-making and management of public health facilities in communities.


In keeping with the above, YOUNETPO is currently in the process of conducting a survey to map out existing and non-existing Health Facility Development Committee (HFDCs) in Bong and Montserrado Counties and organize capacity building workshops to build 20 HFDCs’ capacity to make them functional and effective. An advocacy forum will also be held with county level health stakeholders from the Ministry of Health, to advocate for the implementation of an HFDC action plan.


Position Summary


YOUNETPO is seeking fifteen (15) Enumerators eight (8) in Montserrado and (7) in Bong who are dependable and self-driven to ensure the successful completion of our data collection process. As an Enumerator, you will be responsible for conducting interviews and collecting information from HFDCs member and individuals within a specific area. Our ideal candidate is a good communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, has good attention to detail, and is able to work independently. The role will involve data collection, analysis, and reporting, contributing to evidence-based decision-making and program improvement.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct interviews with HFDCs to collect data.

  • Follow YOUNETPO procedures and protocols in collecting and recording data.

  • Verify data for accuracy and completeness.

  • Ensure confidentiality and security of data.

  • Conduct follow-up interviews as necessary to obtain missing or incomplete data.

  • Utilize electronic devices to record data.

  • Report any issues or concerns to your supervisor.

  • Work in an assigned geographical area, walking or driving to designated locations.

  • Be available to work a schedule that is flexible,

Reporting and Supervision:


The enumerator will report directly to the MERL Officer and collaborate with direct oversight and supervision from the project manager.


Requirements

· Must have previous experience working as an enumerator

· Must be a high school graduate or equivalent

· Should have a good communication and interpersonal skills

· Must have the ability to work independently and follow procedures

· Attention to detail and accuracy in collecting data is a must

· Basic computer skills and ability to use electronic devices for data collection

· Have good time management and organizational skills

· Ability to walk longer distance within remote communities
