The 5th Annual Youth Education and Leadership Conference (AYEAL Conference 2022) on peace and democracy was held in Kakata City from July 28-30, 2022. The conference was organized by Youth Network for Positive Change – YOUNETPO and it is a flagship program of YOUNETPO since 2016.
The conference brought together youth from the fifteen counties of Liberia and international delegates from the Republic of Sierra Leone. The event was held under the theme: “Youth are Change Makers' '. Activities at the conference included; Parade, Special organizing statement by YOUNETPO’s Executive Director Amb. Leo E. Tiah, Keynote Address by Hon. Abdulie Njai – National Assembly Member of the Republic of the Gambia, Speakers Session, Dinner night, Cultural Performance Night, signing of youth manifesto, signing of MoU and presentation of Africa Icon Award to Hon. Abdulie Njai; in recognition of his selfless devotion, contribution, consistent dedication to humanity, but also having the courage to defy all odds in making sure youth have a voice in the decision-making table through discipline, hard work and focus.
Some Speakers at the event include: Pamelia Bernard Sawyer-Manager USAID Liberia’s Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolecent Helth Portfolio, Dr. Clearence Moniba- CEO the Moniba Foundation, Mr. Saah Charles N’Tow – Program Lead; Carter Center Rule of Law Program, Dr. Nathaniel T. Blama Sr.– Board Chairman at YOUNETPO, etc.
Some guests at the event include; Margibi County Inspector, Mr. Joe Oldman Nugbar – representative aspirant District #4 Margibi County, Mr. Samuel Jimlack representative from Farmington Hotel.
